This tasting will take place on Sunday, October 18th, from 12:30 to 2:30pm.
Join us for an afternoon with Brad Hall, exploring traditional, hand-crafted, terroir-specific teas from Taiwan.
For this session, we will narrow our focus to Taiwanese tea. Taiwanese teas are incredibly expressive, aromatic and complex. Brad has been tucking away some rare favourites in anticipation of this date! We will explore each tea through the lens of Cha Dao, traditional Taiwanese tea culture and brewing style. This encourages a slower, more mindful and meditative approach to brewing, tasting, and appreciating each tea.
We will explore Taiwanese tea through 4 exemplary teas, moving from lighter and fresher to deeper, aged, more complex and heavily oxidized/roasted styles:
- High Mountain Oolong 2026
- Dong Ding 2013
- Muzha Tieguanyin 1996
- True Terroir Oriental Beauty
Note on caffeine: All teas are made from camellia sinensis, so they contain a moderate amount of caffeine. We’ll serve small 25ml cups, so total caffeine won’t exceed a typical mug of tea. If you’re sensitive, we recommend eating beforehand. Otherwise, just come thirsty and curious.
