Vina Krapež White Classic Field Blend
Vipava Valley, Slovenia
Poljšakica, Rebula, and Malvasia
For almost 100 years, the Krapež family has grown grapes under the watchful slopes of Nanos in Slovenia’s Vipava Valley—a place where the sea left behind layers of flysch and marl and a sub-Mediterranean breeze coaxes vines to life. Since the 1990s, they’ve farmed sustainably, listening closely to what this ancient terrain has to say.
This field blend is their answer: a golden-hued, skin-macerated white built around rare Poljšakica (50%), supported by Rebula (40%) and Malvasia (10%). The grapes undergo 5 days of maceration with the skins, followed by spontaneous fermentation and 12 months ageing in oak on fine lees.
The result is a wine that glows like late-afternoon light and smells like fresh lemons, wild camomile, raw honey, and gentle smoke. The palate is dry, textured, and vibrantly fresh—with subtle tannins and a medium-length finish that invites sip after sip.
Pair with hard cheeses, rosemary-roasted chicken, or mushroom risotto. This is wine made for the table—and for those who appreciate patience and place.
