Vessel Impact — Wed, October 21st
This tasting will take place on Wednesday, October 21st, from 7 to 8:15pm.
A question that doesn't come up enough is why do some wines taste like buttered popcorn and others taste like crushed rocks? Why do some wines feel heavy and thick and others feel light as a feather? The answer isn't always the grapes. Most times it is the vessel. We'll taste wines aged in stainless steel, in oak barrels, in clay amphorae, in concrete eggs, and more. We'll talk about why winemakers choose one over the other, and how those choices shape what ends up in your glass.
This guided tasting includes 5 wines, with 2oz pours of each. Enough to taste, explore, and get a real sense of each bottle.
