Erwin Tinhof studied wine in Vienna and Montpellier, worked in the south of France, and then returned home to farm the 14 hectares of vineyards his family has tended for 11 generations. Eleven! That's a lot of generations! The vines sit on the slopes of the Leitha Mountains in Eisenstadt and are organically farmed. The wine was fermented in steel to keep it fresh, then left on the lees before bottling to give it a little texture. The colour is delicate pink. So is the nose. A beauty! Blossoms first, then crunchy pink citrus, tangerine. A buzzy energy runs the length of it. Sleek, bone dry, alive!
