Susana Esteban 'Aventura' Tinto 2024

After fifteen years working as a winemaker for other wineries, Susana decided to embrace the adventure of becoming a wine producer. A fascinating challenge she intends to live as pleasurably as possible. And honestly, she's doing it right!

This 'Aventura' is a blend of 40% Aragonês, 40% Touriga Nacional, and 20% traditional varieties from Portalegre that she doesn't even bother to name on the technical sheet. Nate and I looked at each other after tasting this wine for the first time and both nodded and approved. This is a perfect red wine! Period! Classic Alentejo, with brambly dark berries, hints of violet that are not trying to be pretty but earthy, you're grinding black pepper too. Pretty as you chug, with more bright fruit on the palate and soft tannins.

Great on its own, or pair with a smash burger.
