Quinta do Mondego 'Family Blend' Branco 2024

Quinta do Mondego is up in the Dão region, north of Portugal. The winery and vineyards are surrounded by gentle slopes that sort of protect them. On the slopes you can see white rocks peeking out from the green pastures. On the other side, a thick pine tree forest. I could stare at their website's photos for half an hour and it would serve me as a meditation, honestly.

They call this white 'family blend', and it almost makes me think it goes by that because it's the ideal house wine to reach for at any moment. Encruzado and Gouveio, crisp AF. There's a bit of white fruit, almost like a white peach, and a minerality as sharp as a cold river stream. Very intense, very fresh.

There's so much ridiculously good value in Portugal we should all be tapping into it. This is proof!
