Finding a Canadian red that’s both elegant and actually interesting is harder than it should be. Then you taste this. From the phenomenon that brought us the country’s best restaurant (and those Michelin stars), Racines du Ciel is a Cabernet Franc (with a touch of Cab Sauvignon) that finally makes sense.

This is what happens when you farm biodynamically and let the fruit just… be. It’s all silky texture and vibrancy, smelling like a handful of red cherries and raspberries crushed with violet petals and wet stones. The palate is medium-bodied and smooth, with bright cranberry and a fine, earthy grip. It finishes with this incredibly elegant whisper of tobacco leaf. Simply so good.
