Maison Crochet Cuvée Crochet Brut Rosé

This might be one of the smallest family wineries we work with... as they only have FIVE hectares! They are located in Bulligny, a tiny village in Lorraine, about 30 kilometres southwest of Nancy. Wilfried Crochet took over in 2016 after getting his oenology degree in Bordeaux, working at Paul Jaboulet Ainé, and bouncing around Russia, Greece, Australia, and then five years in Champagne. Then he came home.

This is a traditional method sparkling from a region you've probably never heard of: Lorraine! And it's mostly Gamay, with a little touch of Pinot Noir. When was the last time you had a sparkling wine made of Gamay? Probably never before, right? The colour is super pretty pale pink. The vibe is crisp and lean but also somehow creamy, like strawberry shortcake with a big smooch of stone fruit and lemon zest.

Champagne quality at a fraction of the price. Drink it with anything. Maybe a quiche lorraine? (Wink, wink). Or nothing. Just drink it.
