Fitapreta Vinhos 'A Laranja Mecánica'

Antonio Maçanita makes this in Alentejo from a coferment of Arinto, Roupeiro, Verdelho, Antão Vaz, Alicante Branco, Trincadeira-das-Pratas, and Fernão Pires, coming from various granite-soiled vineyards. After the first whole bunch pressing, 10 to 15% of the remaining juice macerated on the skins for a week, then got pressed again and reunited with the whole.

Hazy golden orange, honeycomb, apricot, bergamot, lime peel, marmalade. The palate is buzzy and textural, with a salinity and citrus twist that lingers. It's smart, it's food-friendly, it's balanced! Works for solo sipping or with whatever you're eating.
