Envínate is a collective of winemakers, four friends from four different regions of Spain. Roberto Santana is from Tenerife, which is where this wine comes from. Migan is the ancient name for La Perdoma, a village in La Orotava, where these vines cling to the slopes.

This is a blend of four plots from the area of La Perdma. Montijo gives 40% of the grapes, Tío Luis 30%, La Habanera 20%, and Las Suertes 10%. Red volcanic soils, altitudes bouncing between 350 and 600 metres. In 2020, they dropped the San Antonio vineyard used in previous years and brought in Montijo, a higher altitude plot with less clay. The result is a special extra kick that's all about more freshness and finer tannins.

2020 was an early harvest. Each plot fermented separately with indigenous yeasts. 70% of the wine spent time in neutral 500- and 600-litre oak barrels, while the Tío Luis plot went into concrete.

Six years after being made, this wine is exploding with an aromatic power very different to when it was released. It has lost its tightness with time. There is still great freshness, fine tannins, a structure that suggests this will outshine the 2019 in the long run. Give it air and a bit of patience after opening. Let it breath a bit. Listán Negro's own dreams of black pepper, fig tree leaf and dark fruit will start to shine through shortly after.
