Chardonnay
Some legacies aren’t inherited—they’re built. For siblings Francesco, Lorenzo, and Caterina Cordero, growing up at the legendary Vietti estate in Barolo meant wine was in their blood. As grandchildren of pioneers Luciana Vietti and Alfredo Currado, they could have rested on laurels. Instead, they packed up generations of knowledge and headed for the rolling hills of Oltrepò Pavese—a historic land of exchange at the crossroads of Piedmont, Liguria, and Emilia-Romagna—to write their own chapter.
This Chardonnay is that fresh start, bottled. Sourced from select plots in Santa Giuletta and Roca de' Giorgi, it’s made with intention: fermented in stainless steel, with no malolactic to preserve purity, and half aged in wood for just six months to add texture without weight.
You’ve probably never tasted Chardonnay from the Oltrepò Pavese before. But who has? Think biting into a perfectly torched lemon meringue pie—the meringue is bronzed, almost crunchy, but mellow, with that perfectly burnt sweetness. But the lemon curd is zippy and bright, making you squint with joy. And the base? Oh, a salty, slightly buttered, textured graham cracker sand that holds everything together. Of course they added salt. They’re Italians.
Perfect for binge-watching the last episode of that series you've been following for so long.
