Vincent Roussely is the kind of winemaker who believes in getting his hands dirty. Like, really dirty. As the fourth generation to steward his family’s beautiful 8-hectare plot in the Loire Valley village of Angé, he could have kept things as they were—certified organic, perfectly respectable. But Vincent had a different idea. He swapped tractors and even horses for… his own two hands. Now, every vine is touched, every decision is felt, all to let the true character of this place, right on the Cher River, speak through the glass.
Who knew the grape could produce a wine the colour of a vibrant, sun-warmed tangerine? After three weeks of maceration, it emerges intense, hazy, and utterly transformed.
The nose is a brilliant tug-of-war between fruit and field: a burst of sea buckthorn and passionfruit meets the dusty, botanical notes of dried hay, lemon rind, and a whisper of sweet spice. The palate is fresh and juicy, with a medium body and just enough textured grip from tea-like tannins to let you know it’s got substance.
Think of this as the ultimate upgrade for your cheeseboard, especially when loaded with funky cheeses, a tangle of pickled vegetables, and a thick slice of sourdough.
