Catarratto
Barraco is located in Marsala, which besides being famously known for producing fortified wines, it's a beautiful, historic coastal city located in the westernmost part of Sicily, in the province of Trapani. Oh, Sicily! Wouldn't it be nice to jump off the Atlantic and part of the Mediterranean and just appear there? If you don't have the time or the energy to do it, you can just drink Barraco's wonderful Biancomatto, which is made with 100% Catarratto grapes that are grown on granitic sandy soils and it's only fermented up to 9.5% alcohol. The wine is light as a feather but then it has this very concentrated bitter almond flavour that if you have ever made it to Sicily will make you think of very pure granita di mandorla. If you haven't had it before, now you know how that dessert tastes like after trying this wine. It is gorgeous. You'll love it and you'll come back for more.
