Chenin

Mary Taylor first fell in love with wine in the early 1990s, when she would sell French and Italian wine in New York, first in the auction houses, then as a merchant. Later on, she moved to Burgundy. Living among small, independent growers. She'd share meals in their cellars, taste from barrels, listen to stories of the land. All of this motivated her to start her own négoce project, working alongside growers and winemakers to bottle honest, expressive wines.

This Anjou Blanc is sourced from vineyards straddling Anjou’s blanc (limestone) and noir (schist) soils. It’s an expressive, vibrant Chenin Blanc from fourth-generation grower Pascal Boitteau and his son Alexis. In a tricky, humid year marked by spring frosts and summer rain, they’ve made something bright and focused, less concentrated than the hot years before, all freshness and nerve.

The wine has this very graphite-forward personality, and is extremely juicy on the palate. Grapefruit, ripe pear, and honeyed apple. Above all, it’s infinitely drinkable. A beautiful, everyday Chenin that belongs on your table.
