The Zuccardi family, together again with UK importer Les Caves de Pyrene, is making very good wines from organic certified vineyards in high-altitude Mendoza. Yes, we all know Malbec from Argentina, and how lucky are we to see more and more delicious whites coming out of those incredible Andean vineyards.
Gorgeous, crisp blend of lush Sémillon and floral Torrontés. A stellar combination. Sebastián's winemaking really lets the quality of the fruit shine through. High up in the Andes, the hours of sun radiation are so abundant that wines are full of that high-altitude sun energy, balanced by the cold, cold nights. So yes, great acidity and harmony.
Canned lychees, pineapple jam, pithy, pithy, lemon squeezey. Textural, fresh. Everything we dreamt of for the summer.
Silly-good value here. Drink it with ceviche, with grilled fish, with nothing at all. Maybe just a good read from Cortázar? Casa Tomada, probably?
