Twenty years running the technical side of other people's wineries, then in 2001 he bought three hectares of very old vines in upper Capçanes. His Terra Alta project followed in 2013: nine hectares on limestone, clay, and literal fossil dunes, farmed with minimal intervention. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"\"\u003eFor this new vintage of Aucalá Negre, Josep added a touch of Garnacha Peluda (20%) and a splash of Garnacha Blanca to the regular Garnacha-dominant blend. Yes, there's white grape in your red wine! Yes, it works! It's called something like the magic of co-pigmentation. Adding white grapes to a red blend only makes the wine deeper in colour. Anyhow! This one spent eight months of ageing, 40% in third- and fourth-year 400-litre barrels, the rest in stainless on its fine lees. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"ds-markdown-paragraph\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"\"\u003eRaspberry, strawberry, Mediterranean scrub, pine forest in the summer.
